Mission Statement

A blog devoted to thrifting and flea markets, the pursuit of secondhand treasures. New Yorkers never seem to tire of sifting through the scattered remains of days gone by, and neither do I. Old Coke bottles, hand-carved furniture, vintage leather suitcases and anatomical diagrams printed on raw canvas – there’s no end to what you might end up lugging home at the end of a good day. Are certain items more sought-after than others? Is there a hierarchy of collectors and sellers? What are the best and biggest flea markets, and who the hell organizes these things anyway? These are some of the questions I will answer over the coming weeks, with text and images, interviews with buyers and sellers, and lots of love for the art of the vintage haul.
