News: A market for Long Island City

A new flea market is set to open on the Long Island City waterfront, with a Brooklyn Flea aesthetic (and a strikingly similar logo!) According to DNAinfo, the organizers of LIC Flea & Food “want to make the neighborhood one of New York City’s weekend destination spots – including offering shuttle service from the nearby East River Ferry landing.” This is actually a great idea for lazy New Yorkers who don’t know their way around up-and-coming Long Island City (like myself – I didn’t know until recently that Long Island City was in Queens, not Long Island). Like Brooklyn Flea, they’ll be offering a mix of flea and food vendors, with a target of around 60 vendors.

The market will open on June 15th, on Saturdays and Sundays near 5th Street and 46th Avenue on the Hunters Point waterfront.

Anyone planning to attend?
